Outside the Box

As a child, we learn quickly that we must color inside the lines. Structure is ingrained into us at a very young age. Our curiosity is slowly pushed to the back of our minds and we stop asking the question “why?”

One of the first words a child learns in Japan is the word, “Nani” which translates to “What” or “Why”. It invokes childlike wonder and being able to question everything and anything they are seeing for the first time in their ever-expanding worlds. In the same way, Nagoya Arts Network International (NANI) recognizes the strategic role of the arts in fostering creativity and imagination to engage and connect with others through unique doors of opportunity. NANI seeks to expand collaboration and exchange of ideas through the arts. Exhibitions, artist residencies, and discussion groups give opportunities to talk about art, the creative process and to approach life holistically with our heart and soul.

NANI exists to facilitate, equip, network and collaborate with other artists and those interested in the arts to train, equip, mentor, and mobilize others to creatively engage our world and be shapers of our culture.
